New safety brief on QF

Hey ya'll

yesterday on QF 437 SYD/MEL - the onboard safety video had been changed to a stylish new video - the opening much like the SIA video with Capt Marv addressing the captive audience onboard.

I asked the CSM as she served me a Crown in a glass (wouldn't give me the bottle!) how long it had been playing, she said it was her first time seeing it as well

I also noticed that the 767 I was refitted - the old CRT TV's at least in J had been replaced with LCD panels and the cabin had a "fresh" look (at lease as fresh as a 767 can look) about it.

This leads me to thinking that QF may be looking for a few more years from these old girls... hmmmm

Mr!

Yesterdays' 437 was ZXD; these ZX's were all refurbished through their maintenance cycles along with the rest after the announcement of the "new" grey livery last year.

There is a very poor quality video of the Safety Advice on YouTube:

Re: New safety brief on QF

How many of the 767's now have LCD's?

Qantas is making the saftey demodstrations a bit more lively-bet mainly on international flights.

It is good that they finally got rid of those CRTs, with small LCD with such a cheap price it is the way to go, also it reduced the weight of the aircraft.... and save fuel...

"... it can be opened by lifting the buckle flap ..."

(Note the A388 seatbelt is opened differently.)

Iactually ind that some of the aircraft are radically different, seats, engines (number of), livery... but teh common theme is a seatbelt and lights pointing an exit and the likelihood that in the event of a crash we will all be killed anyway.
