Is the LAX/AKL still a 3 class flight? I got my seats changed to rows 1 and 2. Alos any tips on a cheap upgrade for my domestic economy from Ayers Rock to Sydney. I am flying business all the way apart from this sector. Or will I have to pay the full whack - but then again perhaps it is not worth it.

I did some seat searches for you, and for any date I chose the planes were standard 2 class 747.
If something goes wrong with a plane (or plane servicing is required), your plane could be substituted with a 3 class one. You may get moved around if this is the case....
Thanks Mal. A couple of weeks ago it was a three class aircraft hence me changing my seats. If it is back to 2 class then I will have to ask nicely at checkin if we can change again so my wife can sit next to me. In First we wouldn't have anyone sitting next to us and didn't see it as a problem being one behind the other. However in strcitly business, it's different.

As I posted in the Open Discussion forum, check the business seat map for your flight. 1A&2A=2 Class, Row 14 = Dreamtine seat.

If there's a 2A on your flight then it is a 2 Class 744. 3 Class only have 2 seats (1A & 1K) in the first row.
You may have the newer SkyBed Configuration or the older Dreamtime seats. Check a seat map for your flight; If row 14 exists upstairs then you have the dreamtime configuration, if there is no row 14 you have skybeds.
volley, your LAX-AKL flight is still a 3-class service sold as 2. Not much more time until your flight so hope it stays that way for you.
I still have a feeling though that your seat allocation hasn't moved from 2A/3A......i'd suggest that it's double checked using CheckMyTrip. Supply it your Booking reference and surname and it'll show your current seat allocation. If the seat allocation isn't closed/blocked then it will show your a picture of where you are and what else is available.[/b]

Sorry guys - a senior moment there. I did indeed change to 2a and 3a and those are the seats that are allocated to me. That website CO BNE gave me is good! I never knew itg existed. So if the aircraft changes, that website will show it to me???

Now that I know the correct date (2 Aug), I definately agree with everyone else that it is a 3 class sold as 2.
The map shows that 2A and 3A are taken, so I assume that is your seats. As CO BNE said, check checkmytrip for more details.
The flight on the next day (3 Aug) is a 2 class 747. Equipment changes could happen at any time though...
If the equipment changes then checkmytrip should change. However that depends on the reasoning for the equipment being swapped. A 747 going "OOO" at the last minute isn't going to be reflected there.
