Maybe Ozjet/ Norfolk trying to secure some new aircraft
Skywest, Airnorth, Macair ...... lots to speculate on ... surely though the east coast has got enough/is getting enought LCC capacity, but the west coast could do with some competition ...

Wonder who'll be bottom rank LCC in Australia now? I wouldn't be surprised if this means that flights to Jakarta drop in price now. Here's hoping Brisbane ends up being the base, so BNE-CGK becomes a direct flight again.

The interest will be if they do as Tiger have done and set up a gateway like DRW.
QF use a 738 on PERJKT so that would be an option
As they will op 737-900s the range is only 5hrs so JKT to the eastcoast needs a stop somewhere.
The real question is as noted the eastcoast and its terminals are basically full now which limits access ...anyone who has been to PER/DRW lately would also question where the hell they can park these planes...not to mention
the shortage of pilots...interesting times indeed
