Going Places is a series of 8 half-hour-long programs that go behind the scenes at Jetstar as it moves into the highly competitive international market. The focus is on the people who make the airline tick, in particular the cabin crew.
At Melbourne and Sydney airports we see how the ground crew cope with the day to day issues of keeping planes on schedule and the public happy.
We also follow Jetstar cabin crew through induction, in-flight and to different Jetstar destinations. Over the eight episodes several crew members introduce viewers to the tourist attractions of Thailand, Vietnam, Hawaii, Japan and Bali.
WIN RETURN FLIGHTS FOR TWO TO BANGKOK!
We will be giving away return flights for two people each week, for travel on selected dates to one of the destinations featured.
The first destination to be featured is Thailand and we join the crew on their flights to Phuket and Bangkok. They visit Bangkok's famous floating markets, Karon Beach in Phuket and the Siam Safari Nature Tour.
You and a friend could be on your way to Bangkok with Jetstar. Just be watching Going Places this Sunday, 5.00pm on channel nine for the code word. Then go to the competition entry page, enter the code word and tell us in 25 words or less why you would love to go to Bangkok.

Re: Jetstar's new TV series...?
I wonder if this will be a "warts and all" rendition of the Jetstar experience, or a "let's look through the rose coloured glasses - life is good" rendition of the experience.
Eg - will they show customers who turn up at Checkin 1 minute after the enforced close of checkin (30 mins domestic, 90 mins international I believe) being told that their ticket is now pretty much invalid - and that they might be able to now fly on the next flight (tomorrow or in a couple of days) for a change fee? (Note other airlines may assist the passenger with getting onboard if their checkin had closed).
Will they show the delays that Jetstar has? The frustration of passengers who are advised of cancellations/huge delays at the airport? Or perhaps stuck in Honolulu for an extra day due to the Jetstar fleet being overstretched?
How about Qantas Frequent Flyer redemption ticket holders (booked on the QF codeshare for the flights) being told they aren't eligible for the standard Qantas food package due to them being on a redemption ticket, not a paid Qantas ticket?
Should be interesting. Will try and watch it to see what it's all about.
(PS, I am in a fairly anti-Jetstar mood tonight, so apologies for the very negative examples I've given rather than positive ones!)

I would expect that it will be a one-sided show, focusing on things from the airlines side.
Both the 'Airline' and 'Airline USA' programs demonstrate incidents where they screw up. It can't be too one-sided, otherwise the public will not be interested.
Yes..I can appreciate the concerns that some posts have expressed.....nonetheless it should be an interesting insight into the way an airline goes about its operations... and some of the great work put in by many who work there and at the airport (despite some of the negatives)
Would love some of my school students to watch it..both from the point of view of learning about that part of the business world..and also the range of interesting careers that it might demonstrate. Hope you all enjoy it.. My first post! Cheers Tim
Flew home from Perth to Avalon last night on Jetstar - great flight - left late and arrived early due to frontal weather ! Every seat full. During the inflight announcements the staff mentioned the new series - they also added that anyone flying Jetstar during October will be eligible for a 'lucky seat draw' on each flight. On our flight the passenger in 10F won a 'Good Guys Gift Voucher'. Not sure of the value but its a new thing during flight - the lucky seat prize !

Re: Jetstar's new TV series...?
It wasn't too bad; had to watch the finish of the Bathurst race first though.
I wonder if the show will help the bookings of passengers who were considering a holiday to either Phuket or Bangkok. Lots of footage of the cabin crew enjoying their holidays.
Phuket looks amazing but I think I will fly another airline.
