Best reason for purchasing the Entertainment Book is the rates at Priority Club (Holiday Inn, InterContinental and Crowne Plaza) and the fact that the rate is fully changeable.

Yes, they are eligible for nights & points credit - great for saving when travelling (and you make up the $60 Entertainment Book cost after 2 stays). It's a 10% discount so doesn't make them ineligible. Choose Entertainment Book rates when selecting hotel details (date, nights, rates etc).
