Anyone flown Virgin Atlantic Premium Economy???

If anyone has flown premium economy with Virgin Atlantic recently, I'd like to know your experience/thoughts.

I'm taking my wife to Italy for her birthday in October, flying SYD-HKG with VS using points for premium economy.

I've flown AKL-SFO in PE with Air NZ, so assume the seats & service on Virgin Atlantic will be similar, but expect the catering will be slightly better. Doubtful whether the wines will be better, as NZ serves the sames wines in PE as they do in Business Premier.

We're flying first class with Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong to Rome (redeemed QF points last November to do so), then Upper Class LHR-HKG-SYD on the return.

Will post trip/flight reports once back home in Oz.

Re: Anyone flown Virgin Atlantic Premium Economy???

I flew SYD-HKG-SYD in Premium Economy in August this year.

For the price ($1500 inc return) it was excellent value - also considering QF and CX were charging around $1400 for Y

The seats are better than BA WT+. The have a good recline and the cabin is quite stylish with the lighting and added fitings. The bathroom is quite cool also with the blue light and sliver finishes.

The food was great. Prob not as good as Air NZ as they are now serving a J meal in PE. But the food was definately better than Y and everything is bradned PE. They also come around with Brandy/Baileys after dinner which si anice touch.

Crew on both legs were fantastic and very keen and enthusiastic.

I had flown VS once before LHR-MIA in Y and hated every minute of it, but ,y recent PE experience ewas excellent. (Not to mention getting around 13,000 velcity points too!)

Don't be frightened of starting new thread; your question certainly needs to have it own.

The mods here would have combined you query with another thread should they deem it appropriate.

(There is a difference, I'll answer when a new thread is created)

AT the top of this web page you will see "The Australian Frequent Flyer Online Community". Click on this and it will take you to a list of forums. Click on Virgin Blue Velocity (most appropriate forum for your question?). On the page that appears you will see a button "New Thread".
