That sounds like a great idea - 2 events. Creating more opportunities to travel (think of the miles and points....) can't be bad thing.

Thing is - the 2nd event would have to be in a different city or it'd be a bit of an overkill especially given that many AFFers were at the last ozfest in MEL. Lest I be accused of being MEL-centric...

For now - I'd let the outcome of this poll decide the date of the MEL event.

Why not. It would balance of th Sydney Centric Qantas and the Brisbane Centric Virgin Blue I think once a year for a weekend event is enough. Ad-hoc drinking nights can happen as required.

I'd be interested. Not really worried about the date, am sure I can fit it into my schedule and/or cheap sales from Qantas/Virgin et.al.

Sounds like a great idea.

I think I would prefer the August dates, think I am golfing in November, but please give it a proper name other than "drinking poos".

Re: Inaugural AFF weekend drinky poo in MEL - call for dates

Would love to meet up with all of you eventuallllllly but end of month dates are always out for us (me and mww99) due to business commitments. While weather perhaps better in November - will things still be crazy down there with racing carnivals etc?

When are the best sales (shops not airfares)? That's my major deciding factor in heading to Melbourne

The Spring Carnivals finish with the Sandown Cup in Mid-November, so that part is fine.

Great idea QF009! I voted November, but only because of the chance of better weather. Either date suits and I look forward to it. I'm sure you'll get assistance with the organisation if you want/need it.
