Yup - called this morning to ticket it - its going to be a paper ticket due to the dragon air flight - noted though that my flight HKG-PEK is in economy and my waitlisted business seat seems to have disappeared from my bookings...

These 3 flights and the return flight SYD-MEL to Ozfest in 2 weeks will take me to 1400 SC's exactly. QF Platinum, first time ever, with 4 days to spare.

Well done JohnK, enjoy the extra benefits.
That must be about the most optimum qualifying period ever.

One year I requalified (on another FFP not QFF) on the very last day possible in the middle of a RTW. At the time I was worried about time zones, but they worked off date of departure locally not date of departure with respect to home time zone of the FFP. By the end of the RTW a couple of weeks later I was again requalified for the following year.

Wouldnt the optimum qualifying period be to qualify very close to the start of the qualifying period? Then you get two years of status for one year's qualification

Congrats John - and quite a nice flight to make it on - the return from an FF function

Absolutely. I guess with a a bit of effort (and time in planes) it would be possible to qualify WP inside a month after your anniverary date. I wonder what the fastest qualification for WP has been?
My comment was more from point of not using any more flights than absolutely necessary in the 12 months available to achive such status.

You mean like when I first qualified for SEN early January (9th?) which was then valid until February 3 years later (ie I got 37 1/2 months status )?
