Purchase a domestic return ticket SYD-MEL for June 17 but make sure you select flights QF74/QF73 which depart from the international terminal.

As Platinums I will guest kpc into the F lounge and Mal will guest you into the F lounge. If all goes to plan we should have around 45 minutes in the SYD F lounge and 90 minutes in the MEL F lounge.

I will get to have a much more thorough inspection of the SYD F lounge in July.

As the flight arrives in Mel at 0845, and leaves at 1130, I hope to spend a little more than 90 minutes in the Flounge in Mel

I assume that QF 73/74 are the same plane...so if 73 is late in, we will be late leaving Mel, and we still will get plenty of time in Mel Flounge

Certainly the same type of aircraft; 2¾ hours should be enough time to turn the aircraft around.

However, I believed the MEL/SYD QF73/QF74 were positioning segments with different operating aircraft rather than a turnaround. Please correct me if that's wrong.

Last month, when I flew MEL-SFO (but getting off at SYD) I heard an on-board announcement of aircraft change for continuing passengers.

There also seemed to be a crew change, as many of the QF staff from on-board, were standing around the carousel in SYD after the flight. (Noteably my bag [WP - but only "priority - orange tagged"] was beaten out by the pilot & co-pilots' suit packs (assumed). Desrvedly so, as only I and they knew where to stand & wait at the carousels. LOL It was a close race however, as all three of them came out together, followed by a wait...so I walked off, to the gaggle of customs staff lamenting that this was only a "domestic" LOL)

Re: QP Lounge Meetings

As far as I can figure OJF operated QF74, and OED operated QF73 today-but exactly where the aircraft change occurs, who knows
