Passport cost, partial refund

I applied for and received my passport in July. Today I received a cheque for $7 and an apology for being overcharged. The letter was generic with no addressee name.

Wonder how many other people are getting a refund?

Me 3. Mid July I got a new one.

It will probably cost me more to bank a cheque than go to the bank.

Re: Passport cost, partial refund

Ordinarily passport fees rise on July 1 each year. For some reason, this year the cost of a new passport rose to $200 on July 26 (but I thought it was from $192, which would be an $8 refund)
