Interestingly, tickets booked via SPG Flights are booked as 'revenue' tickets from the airline's perspective and not award redemptions. Which surely means one could accrue FF miles/status from such tickets?

Looks that way, they are just purchasing tickets on the market. As a result they would be paying commercial rates for the tickets, hence the value per point that is seen.

When I click on the link it only mentions 250 points for doing the survey.
Is this a good time to join Starwood? Do they usually have any promotions where they offer points without staying at one of their properties? I assume Starwood points can be transferred between accounts free of charge? I need some Starwood points to transfer to an airline program and was trying to work out the cheapest way to do it.

Now here's my situation - I have 2 nights booked at the Westin KL then followed by 2 nights at the Traders Hotel KL. I really wanted to check out the Traders Hotel due to their view of the towers but guess I may cxl this to do a hotel swap to Hotel Imperial KL and Le Meridien KL to achieve 3 stays on Oct 1,2,3 ---- then 2 free nights at say the St Regis Singapore early 2009.
