Which Hyatt? The Grand Hyatt is still undergoing renovations and, at least from the outside looks a bit of a mess.

I'm looking to book 2 surprise nights at a Melbourne Hyatt 19-21 September.
Looking at the promotions on hyatt.com at the moment they only extend to mid-August.
Anyone got any tips for making the most of this romantic escape with Mrs Albatross.
I do admit to also considering the Hotel Windsor but the promise of the Platinum amenities kit and Hyatt service is drawing me in.
All tips appreciated.

Sept is when AFL finals are on, so don't expect any promotions.
Grand final is 27 Sep (last Sat in Sept)
That's 'preliminary final' weekend; probably two huge AFL matches in Melbourne (Fri/Sat nights).
Maybe you could head to CHC instead and meet some AFFers/FTers:

OK, good feedback. I am in Melbourne on business that week so I am bound to that location. I had checked the AFL grandfinal as the following weekend....but didn't realise that the semi-finals weekend would probably have as many visitors given that there are more games.
I am thinking of the Park Hyatt as a great venue.
