Hotel in Kogarah

Hi All.

Looking for a reasonable hotel in / near St george Hospital in Sydney (?in Kogorah).

Ideally walking distance, but will consider drive if close/easy. Needs to be relatively quiet as i have an exam the following morning and would prefer to walk there (will be in suit though so cant be too long a walk!)

Any suggestions - Novotel in Brighton le sands looks closest, otherwise it's airport hotels but i'd definitely have to drive from there of course (it'll be friday night/sat am so traffic not too bad c. 730am saturday?)

Thanks for opinions.

I used to stay at the Novotel BLS regularly - so much so that they'd upgrade me most of the time. However, I have not stayed there for a few years.

My last two stay in the area were at the IBIS and the Mecure.

I'd use the Novotal before the others depending on circumstance. There's quite a few restaurants in the area, unlike closer to the airport.

It really depend on your wallet where you stay.

Thanks for the reply serfty.

I've actually gone Mercure @ $171 as cheapest Novotel i could get was about $350 on that night and i have no status so upgrade unlikely.

I'm not worried about restaurants etc as i just want a quiet night with early bedtime (yawn, boring!) so will proib get room service @ Mercure.

Thanks again

One warning, be aware of their courtesy bus to the airport; I used it once and it went via the IBIS, it took 50 mins to get to International - I could have walked to T1 departures (carry on only) in 15!

Will have hire car so no worries there (excpet traffic is usually terrible) as heading to St george on Sat early am.

Re: Hotel in Kogarah

As mentioned Novotel, Mercure in Arncliffe and HI Airport would just about be the closest top end chains. There is also the Stamford closer to the domestic airport if that takes you fancy.

Not a lot around Kogarah unless you are happy with pub style accommodation.
