Given it is Hotel Club giving the discount I doubt most hotels will care, if they are getting their money they've got two reservations and they'll just honour them I think.

I am more concerned with Hotel Club detecting that the same person with a different email address has booked 2 consecutive nights at the same hotel.

In saying that it would not be difficult for Hotel Club to detect that the same name has signed up more than once using a separate email address but that could be genuine as there are very common names. But then again maybe Hotel Club does not care who signs up or how many times....

I'm thinking that somewhere in the T&Cs it says you can only sign up once. Presumably the worst that would happen would be to pay the difference.

The worst that happens for HotelClub is they get heaps of frequent travellers signed up to their website, all of which can be emailed regularly. I admit to already using the $50 for an upcoming Perth trip.

One feature that worked for them. I did a booking process up to payment stage just to check out availability and final pricing but didn't complete the card details. Then cancelled. To their "programming" credit, 24 hours later I received a detailed email to remind me I didn't have a reservation and with a link to continue the booking. It was very easy to then complete it.

I've looked at other hotels on HotelClub but without the $50 credit I have found they are not competitive with other online booking engines. ie Wotif.

...now how to spend Mrs Albatross USD50 credit....

    Alby

Thanks for that edison, I was being lazy. A quick scan of the T&Cs shows that they are silent on double dipping. They will perhaps rely on

"Term C.1 HotelClub may change the Member program rules or program benefits from time to time with or without prior notice. These changes may affect the value of Member Dollars already accumulated."

About a month ago I booked and paid for a room in Bali in Feb 09 using my credit card and my US$50 credit ..This has been confirmed by HotelClub.

Will be interesting to see if HotelClub takes the $50 off me and debits my credit card for the extra cost when this offer ends on 30/11/08?
