Amex Premium CC International Travel Insurance

I have an Amex Premium cc and I purchased our (Me and my partner) QF Flights on the card from SYD to LAX.

I am the primary cardholder but I also purchased my partner's ticket on it, would that automatically qualify him for the insurance as well? We are travelling together. I have read the PDS back to front and cannot find any mention of whether or not he will be covered as well.

I was wondering if anyone has had any dealings or issues about the free travel insurance they offer? I am thinking to be on the safe side is to buy outside insurance just in case.
