MAS Enrich

Hi,

Ended up having to take MAS flight to KUL from SYD, not what I wanted, but anyway... I just signed up for Enrich... and noticed this..

Golden Club Class
Business Saver
D
• 125% Enrich Miles
Upgrade using Enrich Miles allowed
Business
C/J
• 150% Enrich Miles
Upgrade using Enrich Miles allowed

From my booking reference, how to know what fare type my Business Class flight is?

You will probably need to look at the actual ticket (or e-ticket receipt) to find the fare basis. The only business class fare for SYD-KUL-SYD on MH that I can find on ExpertFlyer is fare basis JDD for A$4570 which EF says books into C class, but I suspect it really is J.

After we spoke the other day I thought you would stick with QF to SIN and then take early morning flight to KL.

I suppose new experience does not hurt. How does MH compare to QF? Any upgrade to first?

Swans are playing St. Kilda at MCG on Queen's birthday weekend. Are you going? Unfortunately I am in Darwin for 5 days that week. Would have been a good match to see live. Darn!

BTW, I think you now need an avatar! I can think of a few but may not be appropriate.

Re: MAS Enrich

JohnK,

Well best I could do was to get a QF CGK-SYD, I have as much chance as an upgrade on MAS SYD-KUL as I do on CGK-SYD with Qantas (think about it).

I tried

Depart: Sydney, Australia (SYD) QF41 Sun, 11 Jun 3:05pm
Arrive: Jakarta, Indonesia (CGK) Sun, 11 Jun 7:40pm Total travel time: 7hrs 35min
then...
Depart: Jakarta, Indonesia (CGK) EK 349 Sun, 11 Jun 8:30pm
Arrive: Singapore (SIN) Sun, 11 Jun 11:15pm Total travel time: 1hr 45min
then...
Depart: Singapore (SIN) MH 602 Mon, 12 Jun 6:50am
Arrive: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (KUL) Mon, 12 Jun 7:50am Total travel time: 1hr 00min

My push was for using CGK as the Asian hub, in order to avoid costs associated with the splitting of to/from ticket. Advised that Transit time in CGK needs to be more than 1 hour, and 50 mins didn't qualify...

Having said that, you have got me thinking ...tick tick.hum..tick..hum..whirrr..

My wife's brother is a pilot for MAS, I might see what strings he can pull?

Bets anyone? Do pilots (not flying the plane) have any sway in upgrading "family"?

Any guesses from anyone as to which International Airport this is?

JohnK, please don't provide the correct answer 2 nano seconds after my post ;-)

OK, a little more than 2 nano seconds but I would hazard a guess and say that it is Pattaya International Airport.

There is...and very nice I found it too. Not a lot of food but a great bar service and, at the far end, a nice view of the runway. An absolute haven compared to the chaos of T3.
