The CX MPC program has a USD50 joining fee (Can't Get to Diamond Status without joining) - perhaps this was mixed up here.

I just did two memberships, using a US based server, and both went through first time.

Done and done. If my UK secondment happens I may get them to status match and chuck a few flights to *A...

Just as a test I looked to see what that would give me - tried LHR-AMS and that is 4500 points plus GBP36 for a oneway flight in whY - not sure if that represents good value?

Not really. I just did a dummy booking for a one way flight with BA to AMS and the fare was GBP35.50 including taxes

Yes, I signed up too, but 9000 points on BD isn't worth a lot.

With their taxes and charges (a bit QF-like), it is only 2-3 times the price of a FR/U2 purchased ticket. And the in-flight "comforts" aren't that different.

I think my 9000 points will be sitting there for an awful long time.

My points have been credited:

destinations miles to spend: 9000

Still considering getting a status match of either my Qantas Plat or AA Plat, but there's no chance I'd get it renewed by flying, so may leave it for a time when I'm more annoyed with OneWorld and thinking of defecting

15,000 miles plus GBP 100 for a Zone 9 redemption seems ok.

Australia (including Tasmania), Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, Guam, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Norfolk Islands, Tonga,Western Somoa

It was pointed out on Flyertalk that you could get a one-way trip within zone 9 for 7,500 miles + 50 GBP. That's a bargain!

And only 22,500 points + 150 GBP in Business Class. I'm thinking Tahiti on NZ sounds like a good deal with Bus Premier accross the ditch.

And BMI has a very generous hotel points system. 1,000 points per stay seems pretty good if you do a few 1 night trips here and there. Wouldn't be too hard to wrack up the points.

Thanks to the OP, website didn't like me for a few days but points have posted now.

Is there any way to get AMEX MR into BMI?

Something like AKL-PER in business one-way should only be 11,250 points + 75 GBP, right?
