Domestic tiger connection in MEL

I have booked one of the cheap fares a while ago, and am now wondering wherether I will make connection in MEL. I arrive at 0550 and the second flight departs 0700. Will I make this connection? From what I have read, you must arrive at least 30 mins before departure. So, if the flight arrives on time, I should have just enough time to tranfer, having to collect luggage and re-check? Or will I be able to check in for the second flight when checking in for the first one, and have the luggage continue on to the final destination?

Thanks.

You must check in at 30 minutes. Just arriving and being in the que is worth zilch.
Are both flights with Tiger ?
Most LLC do not do transfers. It all up to you Try phoning them or look on the web site.

Actually it's 45 minutes for Tiger Tiger Airways - Useful Travel Info and they enforce it (refer recent news articles). So you've got 25 mintues for collecting baggage in the main Melbourne terminal and runing across to the Tiger terminal 4 -good luck.
The 30 minute cut off is for Jetstar, which is also a strictly enforced.

Qantas and Virgin Blue both have a nominal check-in close at 30 minutes but this is not rigidly enforced.

cheers

I think both flights are with Tiger (going on their timetable - PER-MEL-OOL - correct me if im wrong Leny) so getting from the main terminal building to T4 isn't an issue.

I doubt they'd check your luggage through, they only do this on one route (MEL-DRW-SIN) for people who buy the 'flight combo' fare, so I don't think theyd have the system in place to do it from PER.

You'd have 25 mins to get your luggage and check-in again as long as the the first flight is on time. Possible, but not probable.

Best of luck with it though

Both flights are with tiger, do I have to go to a different terminal for the departure?

Both operate from T4. I've heard that they get pretty good turnaround times there so you might get lucky.

No, all Tiger flights are from the same terminal. With 25 mins and no terminal change sounds like you will have a pretty good chance of making it actually. By the way, I believe that for flight combos you still have to claim and re-check your baggage - no checking through.

I think your chances are actually not too bad.

All my flights with Tiger have been pretty much on schedule, unlike JQ!

Not impressed with JQ's punctuality...
