Goodbye my favorite QP - OOL

Apparantly the OOL QP will close once the last QF OOL-SYD flight departs on the 31st July.

What a shame, it's a cozy little QP, but I do love it none the less.

I will be there next Thursday on one of the last QF flights out of the gold coast. Farewell and I look forward to being in the main part of the terminal with everybody in the future!!

Re: Goodbye my favorite QP - OOL

Ah yes... goodbye OOL QP. Many many memories from my weekly OOL-SYD-CBR-SYD-OOL runs a couple of years ago.

Such a shame... only recently got upgraded and is a nice cozy QP.

Little story... driving from BNE to LSY with some friends (all of us are plane lovers) earlier this year and forget about stopping at Surfers or Byron for lunch... why not pay the parking fees and head to the OOL QP for some plane watching and lunch - courtesy of WP.

Ah well... I wonder if we will see a JQ lounge in the near future if *class get added to dom routes.

Re: Goodbye my favorite QP - OOL

Saw this just a few minutes ago when reading email - one from QF. As of 1 August the OOL QP will close and QF will cease flying into OOL. This is not good. I guess I don't have to travel to OOL any more to fly somewhere - I'll just DJ it from BNK and JQ home from SYD or MEL. What a shame the OOL lounge was great!

And the main part of the terminal at OOL sucks. Cattle feedlots are probably more comfortable
