On a DONEx the price has been removed from the equation.
I guess here in BNE it will still be the regional product and no directs from QF.

Do JAL offer paid on-departure ugrades?

We are taking advantage of the JMB reduced points offer and flying SYD - NRT in Jan 2009 (returning end of Feb) and it would make a very enjoyable flight each way!

I can't say for sure but i have never been offered one... although on paid Y tickets i have had good luck in Op-Ups to J.

Not something i've ever heard of happening in my time in the industry, so wouldn't count on it.
