Smile Best Balance Transfer for the life of balance offers

I am an existing Citibank gold card holder with a credit balance and I only ever use if for there balance transfer offers and my husband doesn't hold any products with them. Does any know or can suggest the best offers they have seen available currently for balance transfers where the interest rate is set for the life of the balance rather than 6 or 12 months and where these offers can be accessed. We are looking for either an offer I can access or my husband as a new card holder. Over the phone all they would offer me is 9.9% for either 6 or 12 months (I can't remember) but I wasn't interested or happy.

Thanks In advance.

Re: Best Balance Transfer for the life of balance offers

I guess you are probably looking at a Citibank product but have you considered HSBC? Their low rate credit card has 0% interest rate on balance transfers until 1 October 2008 and there is no fee in the first year. They always advertise these type of offers and I applied last October and got 0% until this month. In the past I have seen the 0% interest rate advertised in May valid until January the year after.

If both of you apply for this card at different times you can get at least 12 months interest free on balance transfers.

I have seen in the past a fixed interest rate offer for the life of the balance transfer but do not remember who was offering it or if it is still available. Others to consider are Bankwest which is offering 2.9% for 6 months but this has a yearly fee you cannot avoid and Amex is also offering 6.9% for 6 months and most of their cards are fee free for a year.
