I think you might have to move to Singapore. These fares are only available for SIN-PER return, so vice versa.

I am just wondering if my following theory will work.
If you got two eturn trips in the near future on PER/SIN route, you can buy one valueair return ($299 plus taxes) and one QF return ($98 plus taxes).

First trip: You can go by value air and return by QF
Second : You can go by QF and return by value air

In effect, you cn have two round trips for $400 pls taxes. Great for students and expats.

Of course, one needs to look at the travel dates restriction carefully.

It's called "Nesting"

arun, that's called nesting. It used to happen a lot in Oz back in the days of "APEX" fares; before the current era of cheaper one way fares.

Consider the following: Say you need to visit SIN three times. Buy a PER-SIN-PER round trip for your first and last sectors. Call this T1 and the sectors T1S1 & T1S2. Then buy two SIN-PER-SIN round trips; call these T2 & T3.

Then travel:

Code:
T1S1 PER-SIN
T2S1 SIN-PER
T2S2 PER-SIN
T3S1 SIN-PER
T3S2 PER-SIN
T1S2 SIN-PER
Just be REALLY careful with your dates of travel.

Yes, the dates are the key I suppose.
Unfortunately, I can not use it as I live in Sydney. Else, even some duty-free items would have justified two trips.

Qantas have got a special in the PER-SIN-PER direction now $399 + tax. But it is quite limited having to depart between 18 Mar and 23 Mar.

Sounds like they had some seats to fill...

Qantas page also quotes 29 March to 31 May, $399 + 150 taxes.
