From SYD, thats 140 SC's if I read correctly (only 120 from BNE though and between 100-120 from CNS).

Not too shabby...

Both CNS-KIX and CNS-NGO should be 120 S.C.s each way as both, by the Qantas calculator, are over 3601 miles.

On a closer look at this the t+c's do say : JetSaver conditions apply to both economy and StarClass fares.

What does this mean? That cancellation conditions apply to the Star Class fare or that the StarClass fare does not earn points and credits in common with jetsaver fares? I notice also that the promotion does not mention points earning. Hmmm. Anyone spoken to Jetstar?

turtlemichael,

That's probably one for Jetstar to explain.

Re: Star Class Sale Japan Jan08

I already had flights booked within the sale period ADL-SYD-KIX.
Called the JQ call centre to see if I could change to the Starclass promo and was told that because part of the itinerary (ADL-SYD) was on a QF codeshare they couldn't upgrade me.
I hung up, thought about it and called back to suggest that I could change to a JQ flight ADL-SYD. -- Still no go. They told me there were no seats available SYD-KIX at the promo rate on the date I requested. I pointed out that I had a dummy booking in front of me that showed there WAS availability and after many "I'll put you on hold and talk to my supervisor" about 45 mins later I've upgraded to Starclass for the princely sum of $118 plus $50 change fee.

Bargain! Persistence pays.

They've split the itinerary so I won't get points or SC's for the ADL-SYD sector but I have verbal assurance that I will get them for the SYD-KIX sector

The call centre operator told me they had just done the same for somebody from Hobart. -- Anybody here?

I will advise on the earning of points/SC's by the end of the month.

Starclass Promo T&C still seem to indicate I should be ok; however I did look at the cost of upgrading a $1195 Promo fare (SYD-KIX-(BNE-)-SYD) to normal Class.

Given the fare difference is ~$1600, I decided to let that go ...
