The trans-Pacific price war has already intensified as United Airlines this morning instantly under cut launch fares announced just hours earlier by its US rival Delta Air Lines.
The two carriers played tit for tat as Delta released fares from Sydney to Los Angeles from
$777 plus taxes and surcharges of around $355 .).
United immediately cut its fares to $747, prompting Delta to match the offer. Qantas
and V Australia are expected to follow suit, further driving down the cost of flying to the US.

Just did a dummy booking for 6 July ,SYD-LAX,returning 18 July,came out at $798.20 with taxes of $304.52,total of $1102.72.
Wonder if QF will match that.
