Re: Jetstar's International Sale(s)!

Wow, Jetstar is marketing connecting in SYD (to HKT) from its own (metal) services out of BNE/ADL/MEL/AVV not just its QF codeshares! How long has this been happening?

In fact, they are actively dissuading their (economy) customers from choosing the codeshares by -
  • price &
  • " Flight operated by Qantas Airways Ltd. 7kg per item cabin baggage limit applies. "

Note that they are not marketing a connection as such, if its on a normal domestic flight number there is no through check or connection, only if its a QF flight number or a JQ starting wih 6xxx, for instance a connection on 602 or 606 would require you to recheck, what a pain!

They would need to advise propsective pax, especially those on Jetsaver light that they only get 7kg if they choose a Qantas operated flight. It is probably more a legal obligation to point out the difference rather than actively dissuading them.

Says Mon 11 Jul on JQ's website

I would assume they mean today.

EDIT: Had a look at 3K's website, seems like they have a calendar. Fri 11 July it is.

Re: Jetstar's International Sale(s)!

It pays to keep submitting your travel dates a few times. I found when I booked mine that the light fare went from a high of $97 all the way down to $7! I booked two returns, inclusive of taxes and seat allocation (this appears to incur a $10 per person charge) for $700. Very good.

Re: Jetstar's International Sale(s)!

Strange choice, given that QF are on the route, but then maybe they want to fire something at Tiger.

Hopefully PER will get to see something bigger than the A320 operating services sometime
