Not sure whether this is the right thread,

I am an average FF, and time over time JQ just drop their prices nearer to the departure date, even after the first, or the second sale !

Of course all the tickets are non-refundable, so I just have to stuck with it...

As a result, I have no believe in their early booking (or even sales) anymore, and I have decided not to travel with them (JQ,QF, award flights excluded ) for a year, also I will steer away my friends and families from travelling with them as well...

I will give them a year to sort out their pricing strategy....

I think you are looking at a very weird time in airline pricing.
Over the past few months you have seen a massive drop off in both demand and fuel prices.

This is what is driving the continued discounting.
That said, most last minute prices from what I have seen are still relatively expensive.

last minute - within 1-2 weeks, yes they are expensive

within 2-3 mths, you will be surprised, even for full service !

for example, from travel.com.au I have seen May SYD=>AKL=>LAX return
~$980 AUD all inclusive !!! V australia try to match that ...
