Emirates $585 Mel - Singapore

Hi all

Looking at the cheap Singapore fares i though i better check Emirates.

Well they beat Singapore by a bit

$585 return all taxes inc.

i got the 9th April to 16th April..

Ill jump on some LCC upto phuket..

Thank to the KruddCa$h im taking the mother in over to Thailand for Easter

i do remember seeing this elderly couple a few years back getting splashed by some young thai's.

the old gal took it in her stride and had a laugh.

They have a sale on from MEL/BNE for travel till June 20 for $595, and agian from 1/9 to 16/11 for $595 inc, book by april 20.

Even when a sale isn't on Emirates always seem to be a good deal cheaper on the MEL-SIN route than QF or SQ.

How come travel<dot>com<dot>au offers a cheaper quote than booking directly with Emirates? Even with their "booking fee". I though going straight to the source or "cutting out the middle man" was always cheapest?

Any huge benifit to booking with emirates than going with t<dot>com<dot>au?
Other than selecting seat or meal?

Direct with the airlines is not always the cheapest. Companies like the one you mention may negotiate special deals with the airlines or may be operating as consolidators, who buy bulk seats and re-sell them.

Also be aware that some agencies impose their own fees, especially in for the form of cancellation or change fees. So if you need to cancel or change later it may cost you a lot more through a third party than if originally purchased directly from the airline. So check out the fee structure and fare restrictions before purchasing from either source.

That how it prices ex SIN

T class fares, $150 each way + $114 in taxes and surcharges.

I hate the thought of flying them again but that is half the price of anybody else ! who would have thought that a SIN-MEL-SIN cost only as much as my MEL-SYD-MEL the other day. Actually probably less after exchange rates.

Yeah i know... thats just crazy cheap ! I am amost tempted to buy up a few and if i dont use them or something like that then its its a risk but so so cheap !
