I have been pecking away at this "offer" on & off since 9am. And would like to add a few observations –
Availability (especially first thing this morning) has been fantastic, as it always is with Tiger’s Real Deals vs Jetstar’s stunts (i.e. JQ cheap fares only at times/routes when you don’t want to fly)
I was easily able to change a “Tiger special fare”, that I had purchased previously, as I am no longer needing to fly. (Previous purchased fare = $19.95+ccc MEL-OOL in JAN, changed to $19.95 MEL-ADL in FEB, complete cost to me $10changefee+ccc i.e. $13) NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL A FLEXIBLE FARE!
I took advantage of Jetstar’s Double the Difference Guarantee and purchased a number of JQ flights next year. The fact that Jetstar was not quick to reduce it’s outrageously high prices (but still cheaper than DJ & QF), means that I had to spend $580 domestically with them today, but will receive $910 in vouchers in a month, that I can use on a JQi fare I am contemplating.
Tiger’s website has not crashed once, every now and then it is a fraction of a second slower than usual, but no crashes. (I have experienced JQ's crashing on every sale up to $40)
I have not done seat allocation, but for $5 - $25, I will contemplate adding this to my PNRs after my first TT flight, if I think its valuable.

I paid under $600 for around $1500 worth of air travel; travel which I might have otherwise paid $1000 for, if I had stuck to my usual tactic of waiting for sales.
But let’s not forget that $900 of that $1500 is still unassigned, so it might get used in future sales anyway, further enhancing its “real” value. Alternately, I’m not sure if I could use the vouchers to offset against further Double the Difference Guarantee purchases (more routes please Tiger), and then never have to pay for air travel again!
Besides, I know when flying domestically, in my opinion, Jetstar has the best economy seats. FORWARD LEFT FLANK = fine legroom, widest seat, best leather, best cushioning & lower back support. I feel cramped on a Qantas 737, and Virgin Blue’s seats are too hard/unpadded and their leather is unpleasant.
Poor old Canberra misses out again.
Maybe not a bad idea, because you cant catch a taxi in this town anyway, and always getting the raw end of the prawn. Tigers planned CBR time slot of 11+ am is pretty useless too - seems they were denied peak morning slots.
As for Jetstar, I can no longer book since they added Start: Silhouette Code (2) (Copyright Facilitate Digital 2006) crappola to their main page - View Source, scroll to botton. Breaks things badly.
"But in a sign of the battle to come, Tiger lashed out at Qantas yesterday after Qantas said it could not provide Tiger with any form of ground handling services at Alice Springs Airport. Tiger planned to start flying from Melbourne to Alice Springs from next Saturday, but Tiger chief executive Tony Davis said that route would be delayed until March.
Mr Davis said Qantas was the only provider of ground handling services in Alice Springs and it had previously supplied Tiger with ground handling services in Darwin for international flights."
So, I guess after the airports were sold off, and the TAA/Australian/Qantas merger ALLOWED, whatever agreements to avoid duplicated infrastructure and allow future entry, has gone down the toilet. This is not good for international tourism, thats for sure. It reflects the past - ie Virgin not being allowed to use the defunct Ansett gates and facilities.
I believe Sydney Airport had a talking to, re "Abuse of Market Power", while QF has led a chamed existance, ie SYD-LAX routes and not allowing Sg and NZ to stick their beaks in, even though its profitability is double per km than the Kangaroo run.
It seems , if you look at airfaires, OOL airport is open for business, while the rest seem to carry restrictive agreements, with secrecy clauses exceeding that of a Westfield lease.
Time to say how things WILL be as as a new .gov has been installed. And if they dont like it, more entrants can be allowed in if the co-operation is not on the table.

The way I read it, based on their email and what routes did not go on sale Friday. I am planning to check the Tiger website for the following routes, on the following days, for flights next year.
I wouldn't be surprised if they don't match. Probably generates some business for them as well, due to TT's limited schedule (TT 3x weekly vs JQ double daily). Also TT flights don't depart within an hour of JQ's (at least on the dates I checked in August), so no exposure from the lowest price guarantee.
