As "great" as Tiger is, I don't think that doing BNE-MEL-DRW-SIN-CGK and CGK-SIN-DRW-MEL-BNE would be that fun. The low fare sorta offsets doing five segments, but it can make taking a simple journey more tiring. It's a shame QANTAS don't do BNE-CGK direct anymore.

Will use points to come back, or preferably book a return fare from SIN or CGK back here, since we generally visit CGK yearly.

I do fly TR quite a bit, and IMHO they are the most professional and reliable of the Asian/Australian LCC's. The Chinese/Indonesian hosties are a bit stand-offish, but there you go.

And I agree that if you can get CGK-SYD (or BNE) for 20,000 points (a regular discount), then go for it.

If you are travelling on to SIN from CGK, you can get an EK flight for approx $120 (as I am sure you are aware).

I just booked a TT flight from MEL to CBR for next May, and was quite surprised to see that the $39.95 fares are still around.

Half the price of the train/bus and takes a tenth of the time. Can't be too bad.

Looks alone do not attract people to a website or airline for that matter. They have nothing to offer Sydney or the majority of Australia and their record and attitude to date resembles what one would expect from JQ not from a carrier that is going to get repeat business....
