Saw this when a colleague checked her e-mail at lunch (~5am Sydney time)...glad I did! I've been meaning to book my flights for the FlyerTalk AGM for a fortnight, but got lazy. Saved $62 by booking today.![]()
Yeah, Virgin must be having issues getting their sales fare online. They usually react nearly immediately after QF. JQ also aren't on sale.
I am sure QF will be having a great day bringing in lost of sales...![]()

There will be a Jetstar sale awfully soon, 28000 seats for $28 (Jetstar's Domestic Sale(s)) ea. Don't think Tiger are doing anything this week, and I think everyone at Virgin Blue is on holidays, especially since there was no Happy Hour today.![]()
Just booked my Qantas flights from Sydney to Perth for $410.00 return, huge saving of about $160.00 and I even get a meal.
Still it's a lot of money when you consider that you can fly Los Angeles (LAX) to Manchester NH (MHT) round-trip for half that. It's about the same distance. Airfares are very expensive in Australia (just try getting out of it).Originally Posted by flying1977
In a previous sale, I got; MEL-PER on TT - $80 return in January (+ I have now paid $25 each way for a bulk head & an exit row, and may even allow up to $20 each way for food/drinks onboard)
Beware when comparing a Qantas price's value, merely by "discount"!

Seems Virgin are now silently matching/beating QANTAS's sale prices.
Smart marketing... Being silent means people can check the Virgin prices against Qantas and find the cheaper and think they are always cheaper.Originally Posted by futaris
