Actually, you can get points sometimes for nothing. Refunds very often escape the points which should be "taken back" as I have found a few times.
Generally when the refund comes on the next statement, not the same statemnet as the original purchase.
A "Pay Anyone" function from a credit card will be treated as a Cash Advance and incur any fees and rules associated with a Cash Advance for your card. Most cards to no offer reward points on Cash Advances.
