New Card - Rewards Advantage Card

Seems poor form when Amex want you to APPLY for a replacement card rather than just give you the option to enrol in Ascent Premium with the existing Gold Charge Card.

sorry to revive this oldish thread. it seems that that you can apply for this if you have a charge card.

when i called ae, the consultant said to me that this offer was only offered to charge card holders; and that as i had a platinum credit card, the rewards advantage was not available to me.

however after explaining that because i have a platinum credit card, i also have a complementary personal green charge card, she apologised and said that i was able to apply for the rewards advantage and arranged for the forms to be sent out.

anyway i am still waiting for the forms to arrive but a quick google found this:

i'm not too sure whether its worth $250 though. maybe it is a good idea for qantas and me to part ways
