With points awarded it should show on your paper statement. Make sure you keep this safe as with it sooner or later Amex will have to acknowledge that you were registered.
There would also be electronic copies on line as well, but it may be prudent to make sure you have hard-copies now if you do not already.
This is good advice.
I have recovered bonus points not awarded in about 4 promotions.
With most of these no action was forthcoming until it was escalated internally by Amex , normally to their complaints department.
Getting a case number will normally iniiate this.
No case number would based on my past experience often result in just being in limbo with nothing hapening.
Also when speaing witha CSR always be polite but firm and do not accept a no. The CSR will normally have very little freedom to act and so you will need to be persitant till they call in a supervisor or agree to escalate to the complaints department.
Speaking about Paper / PDF Statements, did anyone have any ridiculously large statements? Anyone with a 100+ page PDF?
At 36 transactions/page, that would mean 3600 transactions in a month, or roughly 120-130/day?
I haven't received all my points, although I've saved all my transaction lists from September last year (I did this by using the transaction list report from Membership Rewards online, which shows transaction, date, purchase amount and all points awarded in detail).
I have to audit the printouts and how many points I was awarded in order to work out the balance I'm owed. After that, it will be a case of going to Amex to find my missing points.
Looks like time is not on my side either....

SnowYeti, I too was given that trash by a MR rep. So I told her I'd sue and faxed lawyer letters to Luisa and Corinna - Amex could chose where they'd like to be sued - here, Delaware or California. Then they rang 3 or 4 times to apologise, pleaded not to do something commercial to them, and even found 110,000 mystery phone pays/lottery tickets in the backroom and added them to the pot as myrewards. So go hard. I think they pick their targets.
I took a slightly different approach, because I didn't want to spend the time sorting through which tx were international (and hence not valid for the promo) and which were Australian.
I just rang AMEX, told them I'd signed up but didn't seem to have as many bonus points as expected. They said they'd do a points reconciliation and get back to me within a week. If that results in giving me the amount of points I think I deserve (give or take), I'll be happy. If not, I'll investigate further (still have all my statements).
Fingers crossed.
Cheers,
- Febs.
