    As per the flyertalk thread,

Now share your miles with family and friends! Use the shareAAmiles® program to transfer up to 100,000 miles and receive up to 100,000 miles, per calendar year. Each transaction is limited to a maximum of 25,000 miles. Please allow 72 hours for the miles to post to each recipient's account.

Go to the shareAAmiles^* program Web site for full details and applicable fees.

Not a bad way to push your lifetime mileage up especially if you're close to 1MM or 2MM.

Essentially 1c/mile and you could bounce the miles back and forth, so for US$2000 + $240 transfer fees you can push two accounts up 100k (in lifetime status) assuming that you have at least 25k between the two.

They charge US$1,000 for something QF allow you to do for free.

^ yeah, tis a pitty they charge you for it otherwise it would be a great way to avoid any points expiration for those who no longer fly!

how can they justify those fees for simply transferring points that have already been earned?
