QF / BA Lounge in Bangkok

I just came through Bangkok's new airport last night. I wanted to flag up a warning that there are no showers and there is no (free) internet available in the temporary QF / BA Lounge. The lack of showers was a big disappointment to me.

The QF / BA Lounge is under construction and, for the moment, they're using a services company to provide a lounge for passengers (I think it's called CIP). There was lots of sandwiches in the First Lounge but no showers, no toilets and no internet. I went to the (official) Cathay lounge which IS complete and there were no showers there either. The (temporary) Lounge staff advised me that showers existed "upstairs" (maybe at the spa ?) but that the waiting list was too long given my short stopover.

I solved the internet access problem by paying to use an internet cafe - no big deal. The lack of showers was a big disappointment to me and I was pretty unhappy .. .. ..

.. .. .. that was until I reminded myself that QF had upgraded me from Business to First all the way from London to Sydney (!). I guess I was very lucky and - to any qantas lurkers - I am exceptionally grateful for the upgrade ! I should write to QF and thank them for this. In this context, the lack of showers was ok. I imagine the new QF / BA Lounge will be completed soon.

I'm not sure if anyone is aware of showers elsewhere in the airport or if this issue has been covered elsewhere by someone. Apologies if there's any duplication.

Best,

vaccav

AFAIK, there are no showers available to the public when in transit at Suvarnabhumi.

I'm not sure if this is because the terminal is incomplete.

Re: QF / BA Lounge in Bangkok

Probably because the bribes offered to the plumbers and shower fitters were not enough.

The new airport is a total disgrace. Already over capacity and falling apart.

Thailand have wasted a great opportunity to create a regional hub given it's central location.

Such a shame, but not surprising.

and if they did have showers, they probably would have pulled them out to put in toilets.

given the whole airport is ridicuously short on toilets
