All *A airlines are participating, except for Singapore.

With most programs you get most benefit by being a member of FFP of the airline you are flying. In Asia/Pacific I would guess that would be TG (Thai), SQ (Singapore), NZ (Air NZ) or maybe UA (United). I've excluded NH (ANA) as they dont fly to Australia and not generally considered a good program unless fly within to/from Japan on ANA.

So that narrows it down to TG, NZ or UA for airlines that may be flying where you travel. I also wouldnt rule out BD (BMI) or LH (Lufthansa) if you fly mainly business/first class.

Next thing to consider is whether you can requalify *G (next level down has little benefits). For this we'd need some info on travel patterns - where do you fly, what class (and if discounted/full fare), how much in the year.

Other considerations would be ability to upgrade (currently this is limited to FFP's own airline - except LH & UA have a special arrangement - but is rumoured to be expanded to all *A at some stage), value of miles (how easy is it to earn enough miles for the awards you'd like to take), credit card and other non-flying earning ability, and a few quirks of various programs that can be useful.

If you'd like to give more info, I'd be happy to help.

Just to clarify Lindsay's post. LH status runs for 2 years and requalifying can be done in either calendar year. I would expect a comp now would provide *G for remainder of 2005, all of 2006 & 2007 and until Feb 2008. However LH *G is tough to maintain - 100k in one calendar year (can be either of the 2 years of status ie 2006 or 2007).
