I think you would be better to PM someone who you think has excess points and work out a deal in private as I think it is not officially allowed according to the terms of most programs (eg. Qantas frequent flyer)

It would be great if a forum like this could go an extra step in being able to download frequent flyer points to specially registered members.
I would think that this would prove popular for those who want to go business class or better but suffer sticker shock when they do a price enquiry.
American Express,The Banks, some real estate firms and quite a few others do the points vendoring so why not through here?

Pity we can't just buy them from QF in bulk, some people and trips thats a very worth while thing if you could get a similar deal to the CC companys which i have a feeling cost about 0.8c.
Evan, even if our group had to pony up soething like double your suggested rate the biggies like AMEX get, it would still be a sought after deal.
I regularly read posts where folks are short of points and QF rules are very specific about who you can transfer points to or buy fares for.
Qantas could cancel out a members points just like what happens if you report the passing of a member. So far they do not act on death notices to can FF points but they do if you call them to advise the passing of a member.
If Frequent Flyer could become a vendor you would still only need to buy the points to cover the amount you are short to do that special travel.
I'd be very surprised if the QFF merchant agreement allowed a merchant to sell points for cash.
However you dress things up,typically Amex are dealing in cash by charging its vendors a chunky fee then buying points from the airlines to give them to us.
Maybe it is a little different .
While basically that is how it seems to work, QFF do seem to dictate te terms on which they are prepared to sell points to places like Amex. That is how they managed to move the cards to direct sweep - they place a condition on how it is to be done.
Presumably there would be a restriction on someone buying bulk points and selling them on. If it could be done, I am sure someone would have done it by now.
