Aus rewards compared to US

Cards that pay big-time rewards - Blue Cash from American Express (1) - Money Magazine

Have a look at what the US get compared to Aus..

"Blue Cash from American Express
Rate: Introductory APR of 0 percent for six months, then 13.24 percent variable rate

The rewards are modest - 1 percent on purchases at supermarkets, drugstores and gas stations and 0.5 percent on everything else - until you spend $6,500 within 12 consecutive billing periods.

On spending above that, things get pretty appealing: You'll receive a fat 5 percent on the purchases specified above, and a still-decent 1.5 percent on all other transactions.

If you agree to use your card to pay recurring bills on an automatic basis, you can get points for them too.

And since AmEx likes people riding high on the hog, there's no cap on the rebate no matter how much you spend."
